I am an education, library, research, and technology enthusiast. My interests are diverse, including, but not limited to: libraries, teaching, curriculum/program design, education policy/research, & technology integration into learning spaces. Current research interests include: digital curation, design-thinking, makerspaces, & participatory/passion-driven learning environments.

My personal teaching philosophy is based on students’ development of skills in the areas of creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, through content creation and connections, en route to becoming lifelong learners. Experiences in a variety of learning environments have led me to explore the relationship between educational policy and innovation. I am particularly interested in the impact of educational policy on technology access and integration in K-12 learning environments. An explanation can be viewed below.

I obtained my master’s degree in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and undergraduate degree from Rosemont College. I hold Pennsylvania teaching certificates in Elementary (K-6), Social Studies (7-12), and English/Language Arts (7-9) education, as well as Library Media Specialist (K-12) certification. I am a member of AASL, ISTE, PaLA, PAECT, and a variety of EdCamp groups. I am also on the executive board of PASCD-Delaware Valley Region.

I have research skills in utilizing reference databases and curating digital resources, as well as an extensive knowledge of children’s & young adult literature. I am experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, Social Media Platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Linkedin, Blogger, Google+, WordPress, Pinterest), and HTML/CSS. I am adept at using Google Apps for Education and have Google Level 2 Educator Certification. My experience also involves a variety of Web 2.0 learning tools, Chromebook management, & hardware/software/network troubleshooting. I am a connected educator and  part of the Google Glass Explorer program.
